The forest of Keris is located 9 km west of Heraklion and has 300 m height.

Keris forest which has 5 square km in size and hosts mostly pine trees and cypresses, has been reforested in order to maintain the forest area.

The beautiful forest which is south of Almyro’s gorge is offered for hiking and also bicycling.

The access to Keris forest is through a track road which starts some meters after Voulismeno Aloni.
