Vouvas is an old village with great history and is located in the region of Sfakia at Chania. It is at 180 metres height, 2 kilometres away from the sea and has almost 140 residents.

The village of Vouvas is the capital of Asfendou district which includes the villages of Agios Nektarios, Asfendou, Nomikiana and Vouvas.

At the main road of the village, you will find the church of Agia Paraskevi the oldest church of the community with the beautiful wall paintings.
