Magoulas is a beautiful village built among the forests of Lasithi plateau and also one of the villages with the greatest altitude.
The village which has an extraordinary view at Lasithi’s flatland seems to have a rich history too. Magoulas is traced before the Venetian times at pre-Minoan period.
The village is said to be named after the first resident’s last name (Magoulas) a method that is mostly used for the name-giving of many villages close to Magoulas.
