Lygaria village is located 21 km northwest of Heraklion, very close to Agia Pelagia village.

Lygaria is a seaside village known for its beautiful beach with green waters which is a popular tourist attraction.

The monastery of Panagia Lygariani was located at Lygaria, but now it is totally ruined and its place took the church of Panagia.
