Kainourgio Chorio is located almost 19 km from Heraklion, at 220 m. height and very close to Gournes village.

This traditional and beautiful village has approximately 110 residents and its economy is mainly based on the production of olive oil and wine.

Considering the village’s sightseeing there is a well-preserved complex of Venetian wine presses that you can visit as well as the wine museum where you can see the old Venetian wine production structures and also know its different kinds.
