Galipe is a small village built on a hill at 280 metres height and at 21 kilometres away southwest of Heraklion.
The village’s scenery has a large landscape with grape and olive trees and its economy is based on the production of olive oil and currants.
A stonebuilt water fountain at the center of the village decorated with lions is welcoming the visitors.
Hiking enthusiasts can follow the short gorge which is named after Agia Paraskevi church that is built at the entrance of it and is located between the Galipe and Kainourgio Chorio.
