Avrakonte village, which is located on the west side of Lasithi district, is built on a plateau on the cliffs of Dikti mountain and very close to Dikaio Antro.

A very interesting feature of the village is its special architecture. The first houses were low, build in a circle, very close to each other and had almost no windows in order for the villagers to be protected from enemy invasions. 

In Avrakonte community, which includes Koudoumalia community, the population has the tendency to keep decreasing.
