One of the unique summer resorts of Crete is Agia Pelagia. It is located about 20 kilometers from Heraklion on the road to Rethymno and it is an ideal destination for summer holidays by the sea.

Amphitheatrically built offers an extremely rare view of the sea. There are plenty of beautiful beaches in the area that one can visit and relax, such as Filakes near to gulf of Souda and Vlychada, which is artificial.

Just above the beach there are taverns, cafes and shops that offer amenities of a small town, while the hotels that are there are particularly luxurious.
