The church of St. Titos is located in the archaeological area of Gortyna, next to the Roman Odeon and theater and is one of the most important Christian Byzantine architectural monuments of the island.
The construction of the temple dates back to the 6th-8th century AD, and it seems to rebuilt in the late 10th century AD after destruction by earthquake. The temple listed architectural as a basilica with transept and dome. It is made of carved limestone and maybe it had a rich painted decoration.
Today survives almost intact only the sanctuary of the temple. Today executed restoration and enhancement works.
