The church of Agia Ariadni is located 56 km southeast of Heraklion, at 1000 m height on Nisimos plateau.

The montane stonebuilt church at the west side of the plateau was built by Manolis Spanakis in memory of his mother.

There is also another temple on the plateau, the church of Timios Stavros, right above the Tzermiado village.
