At Nidas cape at almost 1500 metres high on Idi mountain (Psiloreitis) is located a cave of high importance with the name Ideon Antro.
The cave is 800 sq.m., it is separated into three spaces and has been excavated two times, the first one in 1885 by Federico Halbherr and later in 1982 by Giannis Sakellarakis.
According to mythology Ideon Antron is the cave that Dias (the father of all gods) is raised so it was considered to be a great worshiping place. Nowadays Idaion Andron is known to be a place of great cultural and archaeological importance.
