A 7 km long sandy beach with blue shallow water awarded with a blue flag on the west side of Heraklion. It is one of the possible excursions of those who are close to the city of Heraklion, as it is only 8 km from its center.

At the eastern edge of the beach you will meet the Pancretan Stadium, which was constructed for the Olympic Games of 2004.

The existence of industrial facilities of electricity and cement near the beach has negatively affected the number of visitors, in spite of its beauty and clean sea water.

Access to the beach is easy by private or public means of transportation, providing the appropriate infrastructure for people with disabilities too.
